The Problem
India's state education systems still rely heavily on manual processes and paper-based workflows. Students in rural Chhattisgarh face language barriers — most ed-tech tools only support English. The goal was to build an AI-powered platform that could serve millions of students in both Hindi and English, with voice-first accessibility for low-literacy users.
The Approach
Designed a conversational AI agent that understands both Hindi and English, powered by LLM pipelines with custom prompt engineering for educational content. Integrated a voice-based navigation system so students can interact without typing. The platform delivers personalized learning paths, adapts to each student's pace, and works across devices — from smartphones to shared school computers.
How it was built
Architected the bilingual NLP pipeline — fine-tuned language models for Hindi educational vocabulary and built a fallback chain for mixed-language queries.
Built the voice navigation layer using Web Speech API and server-side STT/TTS, enabling hands-free interaction for students with limited device literacy.
Developed the personalized learning engine that tracks student progress, identifies weak areas, and dynamically adjusts content difficulty.
Integrated with the state's existing student database and school management systems for seamless data flow.
Deployed and load-tested for state-wide rollout across thousands of schools.
Recognition
Inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on March 30, 2025 — recognized as a project of national importance for digitizing state education.
